Lake with Friends

We invited Seth, Katy, Tindal and Marshall out to the lake for the weekend. Originally we were going to go to the UGA vs Auburn game but when we found out it was a 12 pm game we decided to pass and just watch it at home on TV. We went Friday and had dinner at the Creek Club. Generally the boys do well at dinner but Camden is at an age where he is just busy. And wants to move around non-stop. You can only feed him so much so he'll stay in his chair. So I think its time to take a brief hiatus from eating at places like that. I remember Jackson going through that phase and I remember it was very temporary. Once you could keep them interested in coloring or a book it was much easier to eat out.

Saturday morning they arrived. Jackson was asking all morning when Tindal would be there. We played outside on Saturday and watched football. We had pulled pork, beans, macaroni and cheese and veggies for the kids for dinner. Camden had just been walking about about 5 days at this point so he was happy just toddling all around the house! Jackson and Tindal shared a bed and it was Jackson's first "sleepover". They had a pretty hard time falling asleep, but finally managed to get some sleep. Such a fun weekend with good friends!

A Day in the Mountains

We decided to drive up to North Georgia to the mountains. It was a gorgeous day and the weather was pleasant. The leaves were almost finished changing so we were hoping to see them before they all had fallen.

We drove to Dahlonega and stopped in the downtown area to have lunch. We ate at a New Orleans style restaurant. It was delicious. We sat out on the balcony overlooking the square.

                                                              Notice his left hand...
He was ready to stuff a handful of blueberries in his mouth!
He loves his fruit!

After lunch we drove to Amicalola Falls and decided to hike up a bit to see the falls.
Jackson really enjoyed our mini hike! He walked a good ways and we had to climb up and go down about 270 stairs! Now Camden on the other hand was not walking yet (even if he was wouldn't have been able to "hike") so it was quite exhausting carrying him the whole time!

It was an amazingly clear day and the colors were gorgeous

Camden is so ticklish!
Camden wanting to "walk" like his big brother

Jackson and I did our surprise face and Camden kept laughing!

He made a "telescope" out of a toilet paper roll and colored it and put stickers on it. He carried it everywhere and insisted he needed it on his hike. Love his budding imagination!

And he brought his compass along so we wouldn't get lost he said. Funny though, when you ask him what his compass says he says it says its 6 o'clock, maybe 5:30. Every time. :)

Halloween 2014

We went to Jackson's school's Trunk or Treat one evening before Halloween. There were about 15 car or truck trunks that members of the church decorated and the kids walked around to trick or treating. It was cute! His favorite was one where you went "fishing" and pulled out a toy or candy at the end of a fishing pole.

On Halloween I took the boys to the opening of Avalon, a new shopping center development. The kids could go trick or treating at all the stores and there was music and other activities in the main area.

That evening we set up our fire pit and chairs in our driveway. Then once it was dark, Christy and I took the boys trick or treating while the guys stayed to hand out candy.

I turned their wagon into a firetruck! Camden kept pushing the cardboard sides down while we were walking.

Camden was picking all the candy out of Christy's bag. Not trying to eat it just wanting to take everything out.

Still messing with the candy. The older boys were watching the fire get started.

Action shot of Jackson running from house to house. He was trying to keep up with Roman and Ryan. After trick or treating we came back home and put Camden to bed. The older boys had a blast handing out candy to all the trick or treaters and roasting marshmallows. We took them in for bed around 9 and then it started raining so we packed up and headed in. It was a fun night! We love having such great neighbors.
