Memorial Day 2013

We went to the lake for Memorial Day again this year. We invited our friends Stephanie and Wayne and their son Will to come too. The boys are 2 months apart in age so have lots of fun playing and interacting with one another. Oh and Stephanie and I are both pregnant again... due 3 weeks apart so the fun continues!

The weather was beautiful and wasn't extremely hot and humid like typical GA weather is. We spent lots of time playing and splashing around in the pool, went to the playground one morning, took a boat ride, ate lots of yummy meals outside, enjoyed visiting with our friends and of course Nana and Papa all weekend!

We drove the jeep and this is what we saw on the way home from the playground. Might be the sweetest thing ever! They held hands most of the way back!

Relaxing with mommy. Can't snuggle as close in my lap now with my baby bump!
My happy happy boy. Love him more than I could ever have imagined.

What a fun, fun weekend!! Hope we didn't wear Nana and Papa out too much :)

Jackson ISR 2013

Jackson did the ISR swim lessons again this year. Last year he was a young age and it was pretty much the end of summer so he just learned the float. This year we did the whole sequence and reinforced the float he had learned last summer. He loves the swim part and will swim back and forth between Jimmy and I all day if we let him! Our hand is his target and he looks for it underwater. If we pull our hand out he usually will roll over into his float because he sees there is no target to swim to.

Here are some videos from our lessons this time. I got in the water a couple times at the end for her to show us how to work with him in the pool on our own.

He also got a trophy when he finished his lessons and passed his test. For his test he has to be fully clothed including a regular diaper (think super heavy when filled with water!), shoes and even a hoodie on. She runs through a series of tests including the 1 minute float and simulating waves over his face and even what if the hoodie was over his face while he was floating. He did great throughout the whole thing!

We are so proud of our little fish!!

Lake Weekend

We went to the lake for the weekend while mom and dad were in Chicago. We invited a couple of friends to go with us - Rian and Meghan and Shawn. We got there Friday afternoon and got right in the pool. Jackson loved swimming and didn't want to stop! It definitely wore him out! We had Philly cheese steaks for dinner - Shawn's specialty. They were delicious!

The next day we headed out for a boat ride in the morning. We enjoyed more pool time while Jackson napped and then once he was up we went back out. We grilled burgers for dinner and hung out that evening and watched The Hangover 2.

It started raining that evening and was still pouring Sunday morning. We had a lazy morning and then decided to go ahead and pack up and go home since we knew it wasn't going to clear up at all.

Fun weekend with some great friends :)

5th Anniversary

Jimmy and I celebrated our 5th anniversary. We were lucky to have two date nights this week. On Wednesday we went out to dinner at Milton's. It was delicious!

Then on Thursday we went to the movies and saw The Great Gatsby. We thought it was good! We went to have a quick dinner afterwards.

I cannot believe 5 years have passed since we said "I Do". I am so lucky to have such a wonderful hubby who is also an amazing daddy. It seems crazy to me that we are going on 10 years of being together. Sometimes I wonder how that much time has passed already. We have had so many fun and amazing moments as well as some sad ones. It has all made us that much stronger and I look forward to the next 10, 20, and 30+++ years to come. Happy Anniversary Jimmy!!

Gymnastics

Jackson took a gymnastics class this spring and absolutely loved it! We had to miss some of the classes because I was still so sick from this pregnancy but we made it to most of them. And Jackson's Nana even took him one time! It was 18 month olds up to 2 1/2 year olds. The teacher would have the kids do 2 different circuits and then they had free time and could do whatever they wanted. Jackson's favorites were running on the trampoline, jumping in the pit, swinging on the rope swing, and swinging on the rings. One thing is for sure... this kid is strong! I was there to help support him on the bars but honestly he would hold himself up by himself!
