September 2015

Avalon does this weekly event for kids called Little Acorns. They have lots of different craft and activity stations, kids zumba lessons, sometimes free gelato or other snacks and story time

Ready for fall! Baked my favorite pumpkin chocolate chip bread recipe and have my pumpkin candle lit.
At the mall. They have a Thomas the train table in the kids section. We always have to stop and play with it!
They always ask to ride the carousel too. Camden insists on sitting on one and then about 30 seconds later is all upset and ready to get off. I then proceed to hold him the whole time its going around. He chose the elephant too but doesn't look to happy!

At Jackson's baseball practice

Celebrating Uncle John's Birthday. Jackson helped me pick out the birthday dessert!
My two little chefs helping me bake Camden's birthday cupcakes!

Camden: 2 Years Old

Oh boy, Two years old already?! Camden has such a great personality! He is super curious and inquisitive yet is still pretty good about listening to the rules and when I tell him no. The times when he's less likely to listen well are when Jackson is egging him on to do something he shouldn't! Brothers!! He's easy going about some things yet strong willed about others. He has been so particular about the clothes he wears for a while now! Back when he was maybe just over a year I tried putting jon jon and longalls on him and he refuses. Normally I would say you're crazy if you let your toddler dictate what they wear. But with him its an all out battle. And frankly its not usually a battle worth fighting so I let him choose what he wants most times. He's totally fine with jeans, but is picky about shirts. He's also picky about shoes. I have bought shoes before where he's worn them once or twice and then refused. I try and try to put them on and he just pulls them off! He loves jackets and never usually complains when we have to put a jacket on. It has to be zipped though. If it has a hood he will always wear the hood too. Even when its not raining!

Camden is pretty consistent with sleep these days. He sleeps from about 8pm - 7 or 7:30am. Sometimes he'll sleep until 8am. He naps from about 1:45 until 3:30 or 4pm. We read books before nap and bed usually all snuggled up in Jackson's bed with him. He is really into books and loves picking out what he wants to read. Camden is still in his crib and is pretty content so we'll see when we wind up moving him to a bed. He sleeps with many stuffed animal friends and a favorite blanket and his pillow. He tends to curl up on top of his pillow and always wants us to tuck him in under the blanket. He used to be obsessed with monkey and his little pillow but now he loves doggie and lion. Doggie was a baby gift from someone when Jackson was born. Jackson never got attached to it and when Camden found it Jackson willingly gave it up. Lion play different musical instrument sounds. Camden always says "roar" when referring to lion.

Camden is saying more and more words: bah (bath), Nooooo (very drawn out) cacker (cracker), juice, nack (milk), na noo (thank you), yuck, woosh (airplane and using his arms showing a plane flying), dis (bus), doodles (noodles). He is very expressive using just a few words and his face expressions and arm movements. I'm bad about just knowing what he wants and saying the words for him rather than making him work harder to say the words. He is also very good at shaking his head for yes or no. So if I ask him if he wants something to eat he'll nod yes or shake his head no to let me know. He understands everything we say even though he can't always respond with words.

At his 2 year doctor appointment he was 28 lbs 2 oz (52%), 34.5 inches tall (63%) and his BMI was 16 (51%). He wears 18-24 mo or 2t shirts and 18-24 mo or 2t pants for the most part. Size 5 diapers from Honest Company and size 5.5 shoe.

He wants to do everything big brother does and definitely looks up to Jackson. On days just Jackson goes to school we will leave and go do something like music class, run errands, or a playdate and within 30 o 45 min he says "Jax??" meaning is it time to go pick up Jackson yet. He always calls him Jax. They play well together but in true brother fashion also love to argue over the same toys, wrestle, hit each other and basically always be touching and bothering each other! Ha!

Camden is very active and loves jumping, running, playing and being goofy. He loves reading books, playing with legos, doing puzzles, playing with trains and cars. He loves animals and calls them by the sounds they make. Neigh, boo(moo), aaa-aaa-aaa (for a sheep!), qack qack.

2 is such a fun, amazing, exhausting and funny age! I love watching him learn and experience everything for the first time and begin to express himself more. Hard to believe how fast he is growing up!

Happy 2nd birthday sweet Camden. We love you so much!!

Camden's 2nd Birthday Party!

Oh gosh, how is my baby already 2 years old?!? Time flies when you're having fun (and when you're exhausted)! Camden loves reading the book "Roadwork" and loves seeing all types of construction vehicles so I decided to go with a construction theme. I love all the parts of planning parties - crafting, baking and decorating! It makes me happy and I think the boys really do appreciate my hard work. They always point out all the things they like!

Construction hats for all the party goers
Favors were a choice of three construction related books. I am a huge fan of "usable" favors rather than just junk!

My caution tape wreath I made and a fun sign I made for the bathroom door!

"Wrecking balls" - rice krispie treats rolled into balls

The "nails" were pretzel sticks
Homemade cupcakes - chocolate and regular white cake with homemade buttercream frosting

"wet paint brushes" were graham crackers with marshmallow cream inside, on a stick and dipped in colored chocolate

We rented a big bouncy house with a slide for the kids to play in. It was a hit!

Camden went outside with no shoes on and was like that for the entire party. Didn't bother him at all!
Mason taking a turn on the roller coaster

Got his cute little shirt made from someone on etsy

These two are such good buddies!

Playing with Aunt Gretchen
Running back to the jumpy!

The next morning the kids could not get outside fast enough to jump some more!
In their jammies waiting for it to blow up
