Mother's Day 2014

I woke up on Mother's Day to Jimmy and Jackson bringing me coffee and cards in bed! Shortly after Camden woke up and Jimmy went to get him up. We snuggled in bed for a few minutes before I had to feed Camden.

Jimmy and Jackson made breakfast and we had a lazy morning at home. Around 12, Elizabeth came over to babysit Camden so we could take Jackson to his first Braves game! He was so excited!

 Me and my boys

Our little family of four!
On the drive down. He's excited! It was nap time and we thought he might snooze on the way down for a few minutes. He fell asleep but not until we were literally about to pull in the parking lot! He slept for about 15 min and was tired when we woke him up but he was ready to go see some baseball!

Don't normally do selfies but we had to get a family shot

He brought his baseball mitt and kept asking why he couldn't go play too. And why they didn't hit a ball to him. He watched them pitch and hit and one time said "too low" when the pitch was low. He is super into baseball right now!

We had awesome seats right behind home plate! Row 11. It was a 1:30 game and it was HOT out! We had to take a break and walk around inside in the shade some!

They have a kids zone and a mini field! They pitch to the kids and the kids run the bases. Jackson was standing in the infield ready to catch a ball!

This was his first ball they pitched to him. We hit lots of balls at home but had never run the bases. He wasn't quite sure what to do!

We headed home and picked up Camden and headed over to Jimmy's moms for dinner. John cooked a delicious dinner and we sat outside and enjoyed the evening.

I feel so lucky to be the mommy to my two boys. They bring so much joy and happiness into our lives. The days aren't always easy but they fill my heart with lots of love. I am fortunate to have an amazing mom myself who spent countless weeks here over the past year helping us while I was on bedrest and also after I broke my arm. I would be lost without her and appreciate everything she does for us!

My lack of blogging...

Coming back from my neighbors house the morning of Dec 17, I slipped and fell with the weight of my entire body landing on my right wrist. I knew instantly it was bad so we raced to urgent care. I am so thankful Jimmy still happened to be home. Sadly I broke my right wrist pretty badly and was in extreme pain. After doing x-rays and putting a splint on it we headed to see my Dr who has performed several hand surgeries on me. They did a process called reducing it and then casted it until they could schedule me for surgery. The cast was up past my elbow making it impossible to do almost everything. They had an opening on the 26th for surgery where they had to put a plate in and finish straightening my bones out. The pain is much better now at 1 week post op. I go back to the Dr on Monday and will find out how much longer I have to function one handed! Right now I am not allowed to lift anything heavier than 1/2 a pound with my right hand. Needless to say that makes it pretty much impossible to care for Jackson and Camden by myself when I can't even pick them up or change a diaper!

Jimmy and my mom have been amazing! They are cleaning, cooking, changing diapers, holding and rocking Camden and pretty much everything else around the house. One of the only things I am still useful for is feeding Camden, however, someone still has to bring him to me and burp him.  My dad has been helpful too when he's been here. I am so fortunate to have parents who are retired and are so willing to come stay for extended periods of time helping me!

I have lots of posts to add here once I have more use of my right hand. So please check back to read about our Thanksgiving, Santa visit, Christmas, Camden's monthly updates and more!

My fingers were in Chinese finger traps with a weight pressing down on my upper arm trying to stretch out my forearm. Then they put a plaster cast on after molding and trying to realign the bones
Then added the fiberglass cast which kept my arm bent at a 90 degree angle

I got some pretty flowers and a new Christmas Cactus plant :)

Mothers Day 2013

My day started with my boys making me a yummy breakfast. I had a gift and some sweet cards waiting on the counter. Jimmy picked out some beautiful Kate Spade jewelry! My mother in law was finishing up her playoff match that morning so we decided to go watch. It was hard picking up in the 3rd set down 4-1 but they won a few games almost tying it up. But then the other team took those final 2 games and won.

We went to brunch afterwards. Everywhere was packed so we decided on waffle house. We hardly ever eat there but it was yummy! It was so busy we had to wait for a table. Jackson loves looking through photos on our phones. Then he started "talking" on the phone and then had both phones. He must have gotten his multitasking skills from his daddy!

While Jackson napped my neighbor Christy and I went out to get our nails done. And then once we got home and Jackson was up we headed over to Jimmy's moms for dinner. John cooked rack of lamb, salad, mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus. Yummy! And I made lemon bars for dessert.

It was such a wonderful day! I did miss being able to spend it with my mom though :(
