Jet Ski

Jackson took his first jet ski ride this weekend and loved it! We went out a few times over the weekend and he rode with me some and with Jimmy some.

Zoo

The weather was supposed to be nice with lower humidity than normal so it was perfect to go to the zoo. I met Katy, Tindal and Marshall there and then Sara and Cade even met us for a little bit. We had a good time!

Yummy bamboo

This doesn't seem like it would be a comfortable way to sleep

I decided to get a picture of Camden, so we did a selfie. I held up the phone and he started smiling! Ha!

Leaving the zoo. Jackson didn't want to take a picture :(
From the time we got there I thought Camden would fall asleep and nap. But he never did, until we were in the parking lot walking back to the car! Actually they both wound up sleeping on the way home and then no one slept once we finally got home. It was a fun morning but a long afternoon!

Camden's 1st Haircut

Camden's hair has always been long and and when the back started breaking off and falling out the front just grew longer! His hair started coming in blonder but the ends were still the dark brown he was born with. I would swoop it across his forehead all day long to keep it out of his eyes. I kept telling Jimmy I think we ought to trim it but he disagreed. Finally he changed his mind and was all for it. Jackson and I took Camden to get his first haircut and he did great! He looks so much more like a little boy than a baby but I always felt like his long hair made him look older than he should anyways.

My handsome boy!

North Carolina

We went to North Carolina to visit Grandpa and Mimi for the weekend. We were going to fly but then realized flying standby with two kids would be tough so we just drove and it was easier to not be so limited on luggage. Also since Jackson was so newly potty trained we brought the potty and on rest stops he could just sit on it in the back of the car versus the yucky public gas station bathrooms. We got there Friday around 7 ish and got settled, fed the boys dinner and got them to bed before finally sitting down to dinner ourselves. It was nice when we had a chance to relax and enjoy a nice glass of wine and catch up with Jim and Debbie.

Jackson slept in the guest bed and Camden slept in the pack n play in our room. In the morning we played in the house and enjoyed our coffee on the porch. Jackson went out to play golf and Camden really wanted to go too!

After breakfast and a nap for Camden we headed out to lunch at Big Ed's City Market Restaurant. Jackson had a pancake bigger than his head! He shared with Camden and still had a lot left over!
Then we walked a few blocks to the convention center to a car show.

Huge tires!

We had fun but it was late and we had some tired boys! We got back to their house around 2 and got everyone asleep around 2:30.

After they woke up we played outside. Their neighbor brought over some of her grand kids toys for Jackson and Camden. They loved the water table of course and also some cool remote control cars. Jackson said they kept doing "wheelie wheels" when they would flip around.

Their other next door neighbors had a playset we played on. Jackson loved swinging on this big ball

It was a great afternoon and Jim grilled the most delicious salmon for dinner!

The next morning we went to breakfast and then to Marbles, a children's museum. It was huge and had lots of different sections/rooms including, arts, sports, water play, around town (police, fire, vet's office, fishing, doctor's office, etc), building with giant blocks, money-palooza (where they could act like bank tellers or work a lemonade stand) and also there was a big grocery store/pretend kitchen area.
They had this home improvement section with real tools. I was a little surprised they had actual saws and drill bits but they provided the appropriate safety gear and obviously required close parental supervision

David, Lis and Sebastian met us to play. It was great to see them for a bit and get to see the kids together.

On Monday morning we packed up and drove to Durham to have lunch with David and Lis. We had a great morning at their house and had a super yummy lunch David cooked. The kids played and we visited for a couple hours before heading home.

Such a great weekend with family!
