Memorial Day 2014

We are keeping up with our tradition of going to the lake for Memorial Day every year! We also went in 2013 and 2012. It is so fun to look back and see how Jackson has changed over the years. Wayne, Stephanie, Will and Samantha went with us again this year. These boys always have lots of fun together and this year was no exception!

We all arrived Friday afternoon and after a trip to the grocery for Stephanie and I we headed out to the pool. Mom and Dad were actually out of town this year so we had the house to ourselves. It was nice but we also missed their company and all their help! Thankfully Dad left us with a bunch of wine in the wine cellar that we could enjoy after all the kiddos were in bed! :)

Apparently I didn't take as many photos as I did the previous years :(. We grilled out burgers and hot dogs the first night and of course the boys devoured their corn on the cobb. We made salsa verde chicken in the crock pot on Saturday and smoked a Boston butt through the night Sat night to have on Sunday night. The boys went fishing, we took the boat out, swam in the pool and hung out inside. The babies, Camden and Samantha, aren't on the same schedule so it was sometimes hard all being around together!

Camden enjoyed swimming in the pool with daddy!
Holding both Samantha and Camden. It should would be tough having twins!
My happy happy boy. He is almost always smiling and usually has his tongue sticking out!

Brothers. I love how much they already love each other!

Camden's faces! He cracks me up!

Samantha wasn't a fan of the lifevest. Those cheeks were a little squished in it!

A fun weekend for sure! It was great to have so much time to hang out with our friends and for the kiddos to play! Thanks mom and dad for letting us come stay at your house.

First and Last Day of School Comparison

Jackson started going to preschool in September. He had a great time with the teachers and the kids and was always so excited to show me what he made that day. It was great for him to learn to listen to someone else and play with a group of kids and also was nice for me to have some alone time with just Camden and also gave me time when I could run errands without lugging two kids around with me! Especially at the beginning when it's cumbersome to have the car seat carrier.

He was always good about going to preschool but would usually want like 3 hugs and 5 more kisses as I was dropping him off. Sometimes he clung to my leg but they always said he was fine 3 minutes after I left.

He sure did grow up, huh?!

Next year he'll be in the 3s class and will go 3 mornings a week.

Jackson's 3 Year Stats

Jackson went for his 3 year check up a couple weeks ago. Fortunately for him there were no shots! He weighed in at 32 lb 4 oz (57%) and is 38.5 inches tall (76%). His BMI is 15 which was in the 25%. He is a healthy little guy! I did a big post about what Jackson was up to here.

Jackson is generally wearing 3t shirts (for length mostly) and wears most of his old 18 mo shorts still. He wears some 2t ones. Pants have to be 2t for length. He is wearing size 8 shoes and is still in a size 4 diaper. We have made some progress on the potty but then stops wanting to go on it.

6 Year Anniversary

Jimmy and I celebrated 6 years of marriage on May 17th. It feels like just yesterday we got married yet also feels like we have been married forever! I couldn't ask for a better husband for me or daddy for our boys. We have been together for over 10 years and now married for 6. Jimmy continues to make me laugh and smile every day. He's always showing me he cares and does such a great job supporting our family while I stay home with Jackson and Camden.

We were lucky enough to get to escape for a night while mom and dad stayed with the boys. Jimmy and I headed out around noon on Saturday and went to the Ritz Carlton in Buckhead and checked in. Amazingly our room was ready and not only that but they upgraded us to a suite on the top floor. It was amazing and I can't believe I didn't even take a picture of the room.

We headed out to see a movie. We saw the movie Neighbors. It was pretty funny and we laughed a lot. Shortly after we got back to the hotel there was a knock at the door and they were delivering champagne. What a nice surprise from the hotel!

One of our views. It was a rainy weekend!

We went to dinner at Horseradish Grill, always one of our favorites! After dinner we headed back to the hotel and I was asleep by 10:45 probably! I guess I was pretty tired. I always get up too early and stay up too late and never am able to get a nap during the day. We slept awesome and I woke up at 6am in pain from not having Camden around to nurse. After pumping I headed back to bed and woke up at 9am. That is so unlike me! I had a 10am massage scheduled so I raced to call room service for some breakfast before my massage.

I had a wonderful, relaxing massage and never wanted to leave our amazing hotel room but it was time. The boys missed us and we of course missed them. The pump doesn't quite work as well as Camden so I was happy to get back for him to nurse! We did make a quick pit stop for lunch at Farm Burger in Buckhead after checking out. It was delicious!

Happy Anniversary Jimmy! I love you and look forward to many many more wonderful years with you!

And a big thank you to mom and dad for keeping the boys. We really appreciate all you do for us!
