Halloween 2015

I asked the boys in the beginning of October what they wanted to be for Halloween. Jackson said an astronaut and Camden looked at me like he had no clue what I was talking about. I know being 2 he probably had no clue but I was explaining he can dress up like something... one of his favorite characters, favorite animal, etc. One day we were in PBK and they had costumes so I thought we'd try one on. I put this dragon on him and he was so upset!

Clearly he was not a fan! I got Jackson's astronaut costume and continued to try and think of things he might like. I got this pirate costume, but Jimmy quickly nixed it.
I got a couple others, even got a giraffe costume. (He's obsessed with giraffes!) And he wanted nothing to do with it! I started to give up and thought he was just going to go trick or treating without a costume. At the last second I brought out Jackson's old costume and decided to give it a try. He actually agreed to put it on! So a cowboy it is. And I have to say I loved getting to use this adorable costume again!

We set up in the driveway again with our neighbors and had a fire pit to roast marshmallows over. We saved the trick or treaters from having to walk all the way down our long driveway!

So the costume was a little big but not huge. The helmet however I think was made for an adult. it was huge!

The kids loved waiting at the bottom of the driveway handing out candy. This was early and then Christy and I headed out to trick or treat with the kids while Jimmy and Roman stayed to pass out candy. After we got back the kids stayed up to hand out more candy and got to make smores.

Halloween 2013

As Halloween got closer and closer I had no idea what Jackson should dress up as. I wanted to do the man with the yellow hat and he could carry around his Curious George but apparently they only make that costume for adults. I didn't have the time or energy to craft up my own costume for him this year. After going to the race with Jimmy a couple weekends ago we thought he might like to be a race car driver. Sure enough after mentioning it to him that is what he said he wanted to be every time we asked. He loved wearing his costume and wore it to school on Wednesday.

We went to story time on Thursday morning

And then trick or treating with Connor and Dillon and Roman and Ryan

Camden wasn't loving it at first!
Thumbs Up!
Our pumpkins Jimmy carved. Jackson helped scoop the seeds out.

Check out that huge pumpkin this house had out!

Jackson loved trick or treating and wanted to ride in his car between houses and then would run to the door and say "trick or treat"! He was so excited to get candy. He truly only learned what candy was and had some for the first time a few weeks ago. We went to about 20 houses in the neighborhood this year. He got a little upset when we got home and told him he could only have 2 pieces of candy! We only had a few kids come to our door this year. The long driveway must have deterred them! Around 8:45 I turned the lights out since I didn't want Cooper barking. We have so much candy left - I have got to find somewhere to take it to get rid of it!
