4th of July 2013 - Part 1

We head to the beach every year for the week during the 4th of July. I look forward to it so much. It's a simple week consisting of hanging out with family and friends, lounging on the beach, splashing in the pool and eating some yummy seafood. It is totally laid back and low key!

Our drive down was pretty good but Jackson randomly got sick half way there and threw up all over himself :( Luckily I had a bucket in the backseat and was able to catch part of it. We had to drive about 10 more miles before we could even get to an exit to stop and clean him up. We have no idea what caused him to be sick. He was a little tired and lethargic afterwards but by that evening was fine and never had any fever or any more vomit. I was thankful that wasn't the beginning of a virus.

While I headed to the grocery store the first evening the boys hit the beach. Jackson was excited!

We had a couple days of just the three of us before everyone else arrived. The first few days we also had lots of rain. We were able to have a little time on the beach and at the pool between storms and even played a little shuffleboard.

A little post nap Curious George. Jackson loves his George!

Mmmm... blueberry lemon popsicles I made

It was pretty gray and overcast the first couple of days. Still had fun on the beach though!

Blowdrying his hair with mommy :)

Checking out dolphins with the bincolulars

Jackson is happy Sofia is here now!

Playing on the beach after dinner one night. They all got pretty sandy and a little wet.

Jackson loved jumping in the waves

Our little fish
Patrick, Jackson, Sofia and Avery on the 4th of July. We grilled out hamburgers and hotdogs and played outside till bedtime. Jackson was exhausted and was fading fast so we put him to bed before the fireworks started.

Marineland

We have been going to Flagler Beach for years now. We have ventured up to St Augustine and we always go check out restaurants in the area but this was the first time we went to Marineland. It's about 14 miles from the condo and was recently acquired by the Georgia Aquarium so they are doing all kinds of renovations on it. It is just dolphins and you can just do general admission and watch them swim around or they have neat packages where you can feed them or swim with them. Jackson is too young still (kids have to be 3 to do any of it) so we just decided to watch them. There were some people feeding them and then a group swimming with them and doing tricks so we got to watch all that.

Summer Fun with Friends

We have been having lots of playdates with friends. My friend Nicole (who I have known since elementary school!) has a son Connor that is two weeks older than Jackson. She works in the school system so we always look forward to summer and Christmas break when we can have playdates. We met up to go to the playground and the boys had a blast! And I loved catching up with my friend!

Connor is a picky eater and won't eat sandwiches. Jackson shared his pb&j and must have been telling him how good it is

 Mmmm... He liked it!
 Love their sweet smiles!
