Camden: 7 Months

Camden started sitting up this month. He would still topple over occasionally at the beginning but definitely able to sit up on his own! He started scooting around some (usually backwards) and also would get up on his hands and knees rocking like he was ready to crawl! He also figured out how to go from laying down to sitting up all on his own. He loves to play with any kind of ball and also is into the little people people and animals. He likes the wooden stacking rings as well and the shape sorter bucket. He likes to try to roll cars or the little people airplane we have. Most toys go into his mouth still so I have to make sure he plays with appropriate things! Camden really likes for us to be interacting with him but he will usually be ok for about 15 min or so as long as he can see us like if we happen to be in the other room or something. I love that he's been able to sit on my hip now - so much easier to do things!

He has been sleeping from about 7:30 to 7 ish and often times is still waking up once a night. Jimmy tries to go in first usually to rock him back to sleep and if that doesn't work then I go in and then usually have to nurse him. At this age I know he's not truly hungry but just wants the comfort. His napping has not been good lately. Some days he might take 1 or 2 naps for about 45 min each and some days I'm lucky to get 30 min the whole day! That makes for one tired mommy! A lot of time I try putting him in the Ergo to sleep after he refused to fall asleep in his crib.

We started feeding Camden solids this month. I started with sweet potatoes I pureed. He has also tried yogurt, roasted sweet potato fries, banana, apple sauce (I buy the natural kind with no sugar), roasted asparagus (he wasn't a fan!), roasted broccoli florets, roasted carrot sticks, toast, eggs, a few bites of rice at the Mexican restaurant and I'm sure I forgot a few. He doesn't eat too much of it but is more so just checking the foods out and putting them in his mouth. Most foods I let him feed himself. One thing he devours is broccoli florets and big chunks of pear (if he can keep it from sliding out of his hands!) He is always reaching for Jackson's sippy cup or my cup so we have to keep things out of his reach. If he is sitting in our lap while we eat he will try to grab out plate and or food off our plate. He is still nursing about 5 times a day. I love the nursing relationship at this point. It's generally so easy and sweet. He has his moments where he's fussy though!

I am not sure of his weight or height but I think he's probably around 16.5 or 17 lbs. He is looking longer and leaner this month. He is still wearing many 6 month sleepers and outfits but also is wearing 9 month clothes. He wears a size 3 diaper.

Hard to believe my baby is already 7 months old. Trying to savor his baby-ness - the months are going by too fast!

Jackson, Will, Camden and Samantha

After a park playdate Jackson napped and Camden and I sat outside for a little while. He was happy playing on his mat and I read my book! Such a treat!
After refusing to fall asleep in his crib this is how he napped :) Whatever works I guess! (And I read more of my book)

 All tuckered out

We went to the Dogwood Festival. Both boys did so well but Camden was ready to go at this point. Jackson is loving his frozen lemonade!
First time in the shopping cart
 He smiles all the time!
