Zoo Day - November 2015

It was a gorgeous Friday so we decided to go to the zoo.
Oddly enough, I've always missed the aviary exhibit at the zoo. We went today though. There were hundreds of birds in there!

Waiting for the train. I honestly couldn't even believe I looked up and saw this happening in front of me. They DO like each other sometimes! Lol!

Going through the tunnel. Ha! One thought it was loud and one wasn't sure at all!

NYC

After months and months of talking about it my friend Kylie and I put our plans in motion and hopped up to NYC for a fun girls weekend! We headed to the airport at 4:45am to catch our super early morning flight!

It was a beautiful day! Sunny with some clouds which came in handy so we didn't have to wear sunglasses all day! And the temperature was perfect out!
Walking through central park

We walked from our hotel up at 92nd street on the Upper East Side all the way to Rockefeller Center!
Lunch at The Rock Center Cafe overlooking the ice skating rink. It was a tad warm out for ice skating that day! After waking up so early and walking halfway down Manhattan we decided we deserved a glass of Prosecco with lunch!

A delicious salad and turkey panini
They were putting up the big Christmas tree! I couldn't believe how big it truly is!

Found David's old apartment on Lexington. Still above Curry in a Hurry! 3rd floor the back unit with the small fire escape. Hadn't been here since 2009 but couldn't forget where it was!

Statue of Liberty back behind me

Down in battery Park at sundown

Headed back to the hotel and decided on the way we were exhausted. Rather than going back and changing clothes to go back out we stopped at a place a few blocks from the hotel. It was delicious!!

We were back at the hotel by 8 and got to FaceTime with the boys!

And then we had a glass of wine and soaked our feet in epsom salt because they were so sore and tired! Then we watched a show and I was asleep by 9:30 I think! Slept in until 8:30. It was amazing!

On Saturday we decided to head back down to Lower Manhatten to see the World Trade Center memorial. We walked part of the way and took the subway some today too.
But first grabbed the most delicious croissant breakfast sandwich here.
I love checking out all the beautiful architecture and buildings

Such a beautiful memorial for such a horrendous event that occurred and changed our Country forever.

 A very emotional place!

In the subway
We of course had to go down Bleeker St and find "Carrie Bradshaw's" place!

Beautiful streets!

And go to Magnolia Bakery. We each got a cupcake but didn't eat them till much later. That's when we realize done had fallen over. Still delicious though!

We went shopping at Macy's and then raced back to the hotel to change before heading out to dinner. We were short on time so we grabbed a cab to get to dinner.

STK. Yummy!!

We left there and headed through Times Square to get to where Wicked was.

So excited!

 Views from our hotel room

Walking around getting coffee and breakfast before it was time to check out.

At the airport every restaurant table had ipads to order. It was kind of sad, you almost couldn't even talk to your friend it was right in the middle of the table. handy but a little annoying at the same time. The frittata was delicious!

Bye bye NYC! See you soon hopefully!
