Meeting Griffin!

Eran, Margot and Griffin came this past weekend to visit. It was wonderful to spend time with them and meet baby Griffin for the first time. Jackson and Griffin are about 3 weeks apart. They had a lot of fun looking at each other, playing with their toys together, grabbing each others hands/legs and much more! Griffin is a great sitter so I was hoping he would help show Jackson but we still haven't quite caught on yet. Griffin did however learn how to roll over from Jackson (Well he had done it a couple times at home before coming but he became much more proficient at it).

We started the weekend out at the lake with my parents and then came back to our house for a couple days.

6 Months

Happy 6 Months to Jackson! It is so hard for me to believe that half of a year has passed since Jackson was born. In the beginning I kept thinking that as they get older they get easier. I have now learned that in some ways they do but then there is a whole new challenge to overcome. Thinking back to the early weeks/months it seemed like it would be an eternity before he would smile, roll over, giggle, etc. Now he does all those things all the time and while I want him to get to the next phase, selfishly I want to just press pause because my little baby is growing up too fast!

Jackson started rolling over in late September - but it was just a few times. In early October he started rolling over more often and now he rolls all over the place!

We are working on sitting. He can sit unassisted for a few seconds but then starts to fall over. I put the boppy behind him to cushion his falls.

He loves to stand. He will hold onto your fingers and pretty much pull himself all the way up to standing.

He is nursing 5-6 times a day still and we are about to begin solids. We will start with rice cereal and then move onto veggies and fruits. I am going to make his babyfood and I am so excited about it!

He is sleeping 11 to 12 hours a night. Occasionally he will wake up in the middle of the night. Sometimes it happens several nights in a row. We try putting him back to bed but most times in takes me nursing him for him to calm down and be able to fall back asleep. He takes 3 naps a day if we are home. If we are out he will usually take a short nap in his carseat.

He is wearing 3-6 month clothing and a few 6-9 month. We have just moved up to the Pampers Swaddlers size 3 diapers.

His 6 month doctor appointment went great. He had 3 vaccines and the 1st dose of his flu shot. He cried for a minute then was smiling again before we knew it. He weighs 15lb 12 oz (16th percentile) and is 26.75in long (54th percentile). His head circumference is 16.25 in (4th percentile).

Jackson is such a happy baby! He loves to give a big gummy grin to everyone. This is such a wonderful change. In the beginning he just didn't know what he wanted or how to communicate it so he was fussy a lot. Now he is only really fussy if he gets overtired or if its past time to eat! He loves to play with all his toys and we have started putting out some of the 6 mo and up toys for him.

We are so lucky to have such a wonderful baby boy. He is such a sweetie pie and every day is better the the previous one. We love you Jackson!

UGA vs Vanderbilt

A few weeks ago we had some friends over for the Georgia vs. Vanderbilt game. It has been so fun to watch all the other babies grow up and I can't wait until Jackson can really play with them.

Trying to get everyone together isn't easy!

Where's your belly button?

We went over to Danny and Candice's house a couple weeks ago. Sofia likes to point out everyone's belly button and she pointed out Jackson's for him! We had a nice fall dinner with them and even took a couple family photos on their front porch.
