Stomach Bug

Poor Jackson picked up a stomach bug somewhere. We were just hanging out at home one morning on the sofa when he threw up suddenly all over the sofa. I got him over to the hardwoods where he threw up again. At least that was easier to clean up! I got him all cleaned up and got started on the cushions and rug. Then it was off to bed for my little guy. I put a big bowl in his crib in case he sat up and realized he needed to throw up again. Thankfully he slept well with no issues.

The rest of the day was ok. We laid around on the sofa snuggling most of the afternoon and just drank a little water and ate saltines. I put him to bed that evening and I heard him a little while later. He sat up and before I could run upstairs he was sick again :( Lots of messes and laundry for mommy!

Finally I got him all snuggled in his clean bed and he slept the rest of the night :)

He was pretty miserable the next few days so we had a very lazy week at home.

Farmhouse in the City

I met a girl from my moms group to go to a fun place called Farmhouse in the City. It's an old house in Roswell that 2 moms have turned into a playhouse with rooms filled with toys for both boys and girls including lots of dress up clothes. There are 2 painting rooms - canvas painting and pottery painting. You can hold or pet the bunnies and check out the baby chickens inside and the older chickens outside. And there is bracelet making and face painting! So much fun stuff to do! We started off playing in the boys room with the tools.

Then we moved on to the drum.

Checking out the chickens outside. I didn't get a pic of the baby ones inside but he kept waving and saying "hi" to them. Ha!
Then we did some pottery painting.

So serious
And not so serious here! Saying "cheese"!

I didn't get a picture but he loved the bracelet making. He spent about 15 min sitting in the chair putting beads onto a pipe cleaner. I might need to buy some beads so he can do this at home too. Not many activities keep his attention for long periods of time!

Such a fun place! We'll definitely go back soon!

Easter 2013

We had a fun and busy Easter weekend! Rain was predicted for Sunday morning so we decided to do our egg hunt on Saturday evening. Gretchen, Joe and the boys came over and we played/egg hunted in the backyard. Jackson stopped and ate half of his animal crackers out of the eggs before he would even put them in his basket. They had lots of fun playing in the yard and finding eggs. We had tacos for dinner and the boys played some more!

The next morning we had everyone over for brunch and I made a french toast casserole. So yummy and so easy! We filled up on plenty of yummy food and then the girls headed to tennis and the guys took care of the boys. It was the longest tennis day ever with an initial rain delay but then the courts were dried and then it rained 2 more times throughout the matches and they had to stop and dry the courts again. Our team took all 5 though! Woo hoo! After tennis we were off to Jimmy's moms for a delicious Easter dinner.

Dancing

We went to a pizza place to celebrate Sofia's birthday. They have a great patio and live music. Jackson was all about it and loved dancing. Jackson and Sofia started dancing together and thought it was hilarious when they accidentally bumped heads.

New Skill

Jackson has learned a new skill. Try not to be jealous ;) Not everyone can have talent like this. Haha!

Jackson isn't a huge fan of having stuff on his hands. That includes cupcake icing! I have tried to get him to pick it up when we have had one at a party but this is his fave way of eating it. Oh well...kids will be kids!

p.s. he continued to do this the whole time until he had eaten the whole thing!

Choo choo!

One day we were at the mall with mom and Stephanie and Will. We had never been able to ride the choo choo train that goes around the mall because I had never figured out what to do with the stroller while we were riding it. Luckily mom was happy to sit with the strollers while we went for a train ride. The boys loved it!

My Little Climber

I had to run out last Sunday morning to meet a tax client. Everyone was still sleeping when I left but shortly after Jackson woke up. After letting him hang out in his crib a few minutes and fully wake up like we usually do, Jimmy got up and started walking out of our room. He immediately heard a big boom. When he went into Jackson's room he was out of his crib standing on his rug looking startled. He was fine but was a little confused.

We went out later that day to buy a crib safety rail so we could take the front rail off. We got home and before we could even change it he went down for his nap. We were going to change it later but once he got up we went to dinner at Jimmy's moms and then wound up coming home late. Then it was the busy weekdays. He hadn't tried to climb out again and we have just decided that we'll wait until he does climb out again before changing his crib to a toddler bed. Plus his favorite way to sleep is all curled up against his bumpers in the narrow part of the crib (with George in his arms of course).

Since he's happy now we'll just let him be. It's pretty funny though that it occurred as we had just been talking about when we expect to move him to a big bed two nights before on Friday night.
