Washington DC

We flew to Washington DC for Jeff and Kim's wedding on Thursday. We decided to go early so we'd have a little time to check out the city. I hadn't been to DC since I was 16! And it had been about 8 years since Jimmy was there. The boys did great on the flight. Camden snoozed a little bit and Jackson did activities with Jimmy.

After we got to the hotel and checked in we headed out across the Key Bridge to walk over to Georgetown for dinner.

We decided to eat at a pizza place Jeff and Kim recommended. There was a wait so we decided to keep walking around Georgetown.

The food was delicious! Salad and yummy pizzas!

Friday morning we headed out to sight see. We started at the Lincoln Memorial and walked almost to the capital before realizing it was lunch time and then time to head back to the hotel for naps.

Bed head and sleepy faces

David caught a nasty stomach bug and was forced to stay home. The only plus side was that we used their hotel room (which was adjoining to ours) for Jackson to sleep so we had a little more space. Camden was waking up in the middle of the night and then Jackson woke up. And Jackson had a very hard time going to bed the first night with us in the room. We definitely missed David, Lis and Sebastian though!

We went to the rehearsal dinner Friday night at an Italian restaurant. The wedding and rehearsal dinner were kid free so we brought our babysitter Elizabeth to DC with us to keep the boys at night. It was also very helpful when we were trying to shower and get ready at night! She took them to her room to play and also took them out to Georgetown to get dinner both nights. One night they stopped for frozen yogurt after dinner and the owner thought the boys were hers and must have felt bad for her so gave her the yogurt for free. Ha!

Saturday we headed back out to Georgetown and sat down by the canal drinking coffee. It appears we really liked going to Georgetown! It was close and a nice walk and plenty to do there :)

Love the houses in Georgetown

I don't have any pictures from the wedding or reception but Jeff and Kim had a beautiful ceremony and we really enjoyed the whole night! We danced the night away!

The wedding was on the 14th floor of the hotel and had amazing views

Rae and Camden at the brunch on Sunday :)

A wonderful weekend in DC but we were happy to get home! Many congratulations to Jeff and Kim and wishes for a lifetime of love and happiness!
