More Christmas

While at the lake Jimmy and I escaped for a couple hours to go see "This is 40". I think it had been almost 2 years since we had been to see a movie in the theater. It was really funny and we enjoyed our outing.

David and Lis arrived in the early evening on Wednesday. We opened presents and then had a yummy dinner mom made. We played some card games and enjoyed spending time together.

It was really a wonderful Christmas holiday and we still had one more to go - Jimmy's family!

We headed home on Thursday and went to Adrienne's that evening. Unfortunately Gretchen and family didn't come but we still had a great time. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and the popovers popped bigger than ever! Sadly I didn't get many photos here :(

Merry Christmas!

Wow! Christmas sure was fun this year! I know Jackson didn't understand the concept or anything but he definitely has enjoyed all the festivities. We put all our decorations up right after Thanksgiving. I love all the Christmas decor and want to see it as long as possible. The lights on the tree are on a timer and every morning and evening when they come on Jackson's eyes light up and he says "oh wah" (wow!) He did amazing not messing with any of the decorations. Even my garland I have strung up the front staircase he somehow left totally alone.

I found this cute printable for a sort of advent calendar where everyday in December you add a cotton ball to Santa's beard. Once he has a full beard he comes that night, Christmas Eve. Everyday when we would ask him about Santa he pointed to the basement door where I had it hanging and we would glue it on. One funny thing is Jackson doesn't like getting things on his fingers so after getting glue on his fingers some days he just wanted to hold the cotton ball and for us to actually stick it on.

We made gingerbread cookies and left some out for Santa and our neighbors gave us some reindeer food which we sprinkled outside.

On Christmas morning Jimmy and I went in to get Jackson up and asked him if Santa came. His eyes lit up and he said yes! I asked if he heard him or the reindeer on the roof and he nods his head yes. We came downstairs and got his cup of milk and then as soon as he saw his train table he ran over to it! He was so excited!

We spent the next few hours opening presents and playing with toys...and wrapping bows!

Jackson got a Little People farm, bbq grill, puzzles, Mr. Potato Head, Little Wheelies race track, play microwave, wood blocks and some books. He loved all of it but got overwhelmed with so much new fun stuff. Jimmy got some car stuff and a GPS heart-rate watch for working out and I got some beautiful jewelry, a coat, cds, and new makeup brushes.

Jimmy's whole family wound up being sick so we decided to go ahead and go to the lake so we raced around packing clothes and presents in the car. Jackson took a nap on our way and he couldn't have been more excited when we got to Nana and Papa's house!

At the lake we enjoyed quality time with the family. We went to the Ritz to check out the gingerbread house they make each year. They make the whole thing with sheets of homemade gingerbread, icing and candy. It is such a neat tradition they do!

Santa, Sprinkles and Stone Mountain!

We went to the local high school for a breakfast with Santa event as a fundraiser for their baseball team. We were shown to a table and then served coffee and waters as well as pancakes, eggs, bacon, and pastries. Once we had eaten we went to stand in line to see Santa. This was the 3rd time we had seen him I think and each time Jackson was a little more unsure! Daddy decided he would be in the picture with him instead.

After a quick nap at home for Jackson off we went to Chuck E. Cheese for Tindal's 3rd birthday party. It was packed! Not sure we will be going again on a Saturday anytime soon. I didn't get any pictures of Tindal with her cake :( Jackson loved eating the yummy cupcake!

Jackson played a little guitar hero
And he loved riding the carousel
And driving cars

Next we drove to Stone Mountain to meet up with Danny, Candice and Sofia. When we got there watched the 4D Polar Express show. Jackson loved it and thought it was so funny when the water sprayed and the wind blew our hair! Next we rode the train around the park. He loves him some choo choo trains!

We went to a short play about toys and Jackson was so into it He kept turning around to make sure we were watching and had a huge grin on his face.

We loved looking at all the Christmas lights out!

Now, that was a fun filled day! We were all exhausted when we got home!
