Jackson's Swim Lessons

As I mentioned back in August Jackson began taking ISR swim lessons. It is normally a 4-6 week process and they learn the swim, float, swim sequence. Because of Jackson's age and it being the end of summer our instructor decided to end with him learning the float and not finish the final swim step so we only went for 3 weeks. We will go back in the spring for a refresher and the final swim step. Jackson did really well and he would whine and whimper in the water some but overall did well with it.

She did a pretest with him in his swimsuit and then for the real test they have to be fully clothed including shoes and a hoodie for part of it.

Parts of this might be difficult for some to watch but I think the technique and what they learn is amazing. They even teach babies 6 months old how to roll over and float! Our instructor was in the water with Jackson the entire time and was always right behind him. She also would only let him stay underwater for a certain amount of time before automatically helping him up if he couldn't find his float. I left the sound on even though he whimpers some so that you can be assured that she is talking to him and praising his good work the whole time.

At the end is his 1 minute float. Even with all that extra weight on him he did great!
